NEW YORK, NY-- (August 16, 2016) - One Drop is transforming diabetes self-care by focusing on digital solutions that promote health behaviors through empowerment, mindfulness and motivation. One Drop today announced the hiring of Chandra Osborn PhD, MPH as Vice President of Health and Behavioral Informatics. In her new role, Osborn will expand on the company's efforts to drive data-focused self-care solutions into the healthcare marketplace.
Since launch, One Drop users from 192 countries have contributed over 65 million health-related data points, all of which are being used to better understand the factors impacting diabetes management and to provide the One Drop community with meaningful insights into how to achieve better glycemic outcomes. Osborn is a leading expert on how to promote adherence to diabetes medications and insulin, reduce diabetes self-care disparities, and leverage technology to improve the lives of people with diabetes.
Osborn joins One Drop from Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she was Assistant Professor of Medicine and Biomedical Informatics, and months away from being tenured and becoming the Director of the Behavioral Intervention Technologies and Services Core of the Vanderbilt Center for Diabetes Translational Research.
During her eight years at Vanderbilt, Osborn led NIH-funded digitally-delivered diabetes self-care trials, taught courses on health behavior, and was the Co-Director of the Vanderbilt Center for Health Behavior and Health Education. Osborn has also served as the Co-President of the Behavioral Research in Diabetes Group Exchange, and is currently among the leadership for the Society for Behavioral Medicine's Diabetes Special Interest Group.
Outside these roles, Osborn has been a sought-after advisor for the American Diabetes Association, NIH, and National Diabetes Education Program, where she informs the behavioral diabetes and mHealth scientific agendas, and curates diabetes education materials and resources for the public.

In Q4, 2016, One Drop is launching One Drop | Premium, a monthly subscription service that includes: the One Drop | Chrome blood glucose monitoring system, unlimited blood glucose testing supplies and access to One Drop Experts, a 24/7 on-demand diabetes support and self-management program delivered exclusively through the One Drop app for iOS and Android. In July 2016, One Drop submitted a 510K to the FDA for approval of its bluetooth-enabled blood glucose monitoring system, which will transmit blood glucose data directly to the One Drop mobile app.
