We stand in solidarity with the fight against discrimination, police brutality, and racism.

To our One Drop family,

We are outraged by the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others caused by racism. We unequivocally believe that Black lives matter, Black health matters, and Black communities matter. We’ve taken the weeks since Mr. Floyd’s death to reflect and take action.

Racism, discrimination, and police brutality are real, persistent issues facing Black people and people of color in our country. As a company dedicated to the health and wellness of everyone, we recognize the profound and unequal impact of these forces. We know that racism infuses life with trauma and stress that contribute to poor health outcomes, including the chronic conditions that we work tirelessly to address.

We cannot achieve our mission to transform health, change lives, and create opportunities for everyone as long as Black communities are faced with disproportionate trauma. So, we are taking recent tragedies as a call to action to do better, speak up, and be part of the solution.

As a young and growing company, while we try to live our values each and every day, we have the opportunity to further shape our internal culture to foster the change we want to see in the world. To that end, we are implementing a proactive diversity, equity, and inclusion program to ensure that our commitment to anti-racism is sustainable and ongoing.

It’s also important that One Drop support organizations that fight systemic racism. We are donating $10,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, an organization that seeks structural changes to expand democracy, eliminate disparities, and achieve racial justice.

By addressing the epidemic of racial injustice in the United States, we’re working to address a major underlying contributor to the epidemic of chronic conditions. Together, we must do more.
